IB business management tutoring

IB Business Management tutoring – comprehensive preparation for the international baccalaureate

Business Management in the IB programme combines management theory, finance, marketing, and business ethics into one demanding whole. Students often say the same thing: “I understand the topic, but I don’t know how to write an answer that the examiner will credit”. This is the crucial difference between understanding the material well and scoring in line with the IB markscheme. Our IB Business Management tutoring solves exactly that problem – we teach students to think in terms of IB criteria, train them in command terms, and work on answer structure so that your child gains the maximum number of points in the SL or HL exam.

We work with students individually, adjusting the pace and scope to their current level and target grade. Whether the goal is 5/7 for a safe application, or 7/7 as a foundation for economics studies at Bocconi, LSE, or Oxbridge – we know how to get there. The first consultation is free and allows us to accurately diagnose the student’s needs and build a realistic preparation plan.

Who is IB Business Management tutoring for?

Our offer is aimed at students of the IB Diploma Programme – at both SL and HL level – who want to organise their knowledge, improve their predicted grades, or are just starting out with BM and want to work at exam level from the very beginning. Tutoring helps in situations where the student:

  • feels that they understand the material but cannot write to the markscheme and are losing points in mock exams,
  • is struggling with the Internal Assessment (IA) – choosing a topic, methodology, company analysis, and structure,
  • has difficulty managing time in Paper 1 and Paper 2, and in the case of HL also in the more extensive Paper 3,
  • needs HL-level depth – thorough analysis of strategic models and financial statements,
  • is aiming for 6–7/7 as part of a strong application to universities abroad.

Parents who are not fully familiar with the IB structure and assessment methods but want to be sure their child is on the right track also benefit from our tutoring. After the first consultation they receive a clear action plan and know exactly what is happening at each stage of the learning process.

Why is IB Business Management such an important subject?

Business Management in the IB is not just a subject on a transcript – it is the foundation of an application to economics, business, and management programmes at the world’s leading universities. A result in BM HL is often part of the entry requirements for programmes such as Management at LSE, Economics & Management at Oxford, BSc International Economics and Management at Bocconi University, and business programmes in the Netherlands, Denmark, and Ireland. Without a strong result – most often 6 or 7 – applying to top foreign universities becomes significantly more difficult.

BM also teaches what university recruiters expect: analytical thinking, working with case studies, interpreting financial data, and making decisions under uncertainty. These are skills that come back later in Oxbridge-style interviews, in tests such as TSA or GMAT, and in the first years of study. Good preparation in Business Management is an investment with long-term returns:

  • better IB results → stronger application,
  • stronger application → better university,
  • better university → broader network and greater career opportunities,
  • the habit of working with markschemes and case studies → an easier start to business studies.

In other words, the IB BM exam is not an end in itself – it is a ticket to a particular kind of career, one where analysis, strategy, and decision-making matter.

Our methodology – individual approach and full control over progress

Our tutors are graduates of Cambridge, Oxford, and other leading universities around the world, who have themselves gone through the demanding application process and often work as IB examiners. They know exactly what an assessor looks for and what the difference between a 4-point and a 7-point answer looks like. The work is based on a proven methodology:

  • markscheme analysis – the student learns to look at questions through the examiner’s eyes,
  • writing practice to IB criteria – with emphasis on command terms (“evaluate”, “analyse”, “discuss”, “to what extent”),
  • work on past papers – real questions from previous exam sessions,
  • modelling answers using current company case studies and up-to-date market examples,
  • analysis of strategic models: SWOT, PESTLE, Ansoff, Porter’s Five Forces, Boston Matrix,
  • work on financial statements and ratios (ratio analysis, break-even, investment appraisal),
  • comprehensive support with the Internal Assessment – from choosing the topic and company, through methodology, to the final polish.

Parents most often highlight that they feel well looked after when they see real progress, receive feedback after sessions, and have ongoing contact with the mentor. That is why after every session the student knows what was covered, and the parent knows exactly where their child stands. This provides predictable results, stable predicted grades, and full control over the IA – the three things that parents of IB students most often tell us matter most to them.

Scope of support in IB Business Management tutoring

  • comprehensive SL/HL preparation in IB Business Management,
  • mentoring for the Internal Assessment (IA) – topic, structure, methodology, final editing,
  • work with past papers and current IB case studies,
  • training for Paper 1 (case study), Paper 2 (quantitative data), and Paper 3 (HL),
  • predicted grade optimisation – a realistic plan to reach a grade of 6 or 7,
  • an individual revision strategy plan ahead of the May exam session,
  • intensive support immediately before the exam – revision sessions and mock exams.

Tutoring is available online or in person, at a rate of 150 PLN per hour, with a free first consultation during which we agree on goals and the scope of work together.
