Entrepreneurship Olympics

Entrepreneurship Olympiad – comprehensive preparation for a prestigious economics competition

Many talented secondary school students with good grades in business studies try their hand at the olympiad and drop out at the school stage. Why? Because the Entrepreneurship Olympiad is not a textbook knowledge test, but a competition requiring analytical thinking, familiarity with current economic trends, and the ability to solve case study tasks at a level close to the first year of an economics degree. School alone will not teach you this.

At MonPat Education we provide Entrepreneurship Olympiad preparation that combines solid theory with problem-based reasoning training, work on archived tasks, and simulations of each successive stage. Our goal is not only results, but genuine development of academic competencies – the same ones that will open doors to the SGH Warsaw School of Economics, the Universities of Economics, or international business and management programmes.

The key benefits: direct entry to one of the five co-organising universities without entrance exams, a strong distinguishing factor in international applications, development of leadership competencies, and a completely free first consultation.

Who is Entrepreneurship Olympiad preparation for?

Our programme is aimed at secondary school students who want more than the school curriculum – those for whom business studies lessons are not enough, and for whom business, economic, and managerial topics are a genuine passion. The entrepreneurship competition is a demanding path, but our tutors know how to guide an ambitious student through it in an organised way.

In our experience, the greatest success is achieved by students who do well at school but have never previously been trained in problem-based thinking. It is precisely this gap – not gaps in knowledge – that most often determines failure at the regional or national stage. Our programme is for:

  • secondary school students (years 1–3) planning economics, business, or management studies in Poland or abroad,
  • students aiming for the SGH Warsaw School of Economics, the Universities of Economics (Katowice, Kraków, Poznań, Wrocław), as well as international Business Management, Economics, or Finance programmes,
  • IB and Polish matura students who want to strengthen their candidate profile with an academic distinction,
  • young leaders with a talent for teamwork, presentations, and strategic thinking.

Why the Entrepreneurship Olympiad matters so much for your career

The Entrepreneurship Olympiad is one of the most recognised economics olympiads in Poland, organised since 2005 by the Foundation for the Promotion and Accreditation of Economics Programmes in cooperation with the SGH and four Universities of Economics. Laureates and finalists (several hundred people in total in each edition) receive direct entry to these universities without entrance exams – this is one of the fastest and most reliable ways to gain admission to a top economics programme in the country.

But that is only the beginning. The title of laureate or finalist is a major distinguishing factor in applications to universities in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, or Bocconi University in Italy. Admissions committees at LSE, Warwick, or Erasmus University Rotterdam understand perfectly well what a place in a national olympiad final means – it is proof that the candidate can think analytically, work under pressure, and compete at the highest level.

The current 21st edition is held under the theme “The enterprise in the face of environmental challenges” and covers the analysis of the business environment, development strategies, and corporate resilience in times of crisis. The subject matter aligns perfectly with what recruiters look for in prospective students of economics and management.

In the long term, the picture looks like this: solid preparation → olympiad success → a better university → a stronger network of contacts → greater career opportunities. Students who begin building their academic profile in the first or second year of secondary school end up in a completely different position from their peers.

How we work – a methodology valued by students and parents

The olympiad requires a completely different approach from school. The three competition stages (school stage in December, regional stage in March, national stage in April in Warsaw) test progressively deeper competencies – from a knowledge test, through a team task, to an elevator pitch and a “1 of 10” quiz in the final. Each stage requires different training, which is why we work within a clearly planned structure.

Each student receives an individual plan, tailored to the stage they are currently at and to the university they are ultimately aiming to apply to. After each session we provide brief feedback – to both the student and the parent – so that the whole family knows where the preparation stands and what comes next. Availability between sessions and a prompt response to questions are standard practice for us.

We work on the basis of:

  • archived olympiad tasks from all previous editions – we analyse them step by step, identifying typical traps and solving strategies,
  • extended theory covering strategic management, micro- and macroeconomics, and environmental analysis, going well beyond the standard curriculum,
  • work with academic literature (Porter, Drucker, Mintzberg) at first-year economics degree level,
  • simulations of all stages – from the school test, through the team task, to the elevator pitch and the final quiz,
  • training in presentation, argumentation, and teamwork, which is particularly crucial at the national stage.

Why do parents and students choose us? Because they see real progress after each session, receive a clear action plan instead of chaos, and our tutors know the olympiad system from the inside – many of them have personally gone through similar competition and academic pathways. This builds composure, predictability, and confidence in the candidate.

Scope of support in Entrepreneurship Olympiad preparation

Our entrepreneurship olympiad training is comprehensive and covers all the elements needed to progress effectively through the successive competition stages. The programme provides:

  • analysis of the scope of the current olympiad edition and a competency assessment at the outset,
  • work on archived tasks from the school, regional, and final stage tests,
  • extended theory in entrepreneurship, management, economics, and finance,
  • preparation for the oral stage – elevator pitch and the “1 of 10” quiz,
  • teamwork and presentation training for the group task at the regional stage,
  • individual project consultations and strategic mentoring,
  • psychological support and help with stress management ahead of each successive stage.

The Entrepreneurship Olympiad as part of a broader educational strategy

Success in the olympiad is a major asset – but at MonPat Education we treat it as part of a larger picture. Most of our students combine Entrepreneurship Olympiad preparation with other pathways: tutoring, IB or A-Level matura preparation, language examination courses, or our flagship Oxbridge Programme.

If you are planning to study economics or business abroad, we also encourage you to explore our related services:

  • IB economics tutoring and A-Level economics,
  • IB Business Management and A-Level Business,
  • preparation courses for the TSA Oxford, TMUA, and GMAT examinations,
  • potential assessment for Bocconi University,
  • applications to universities in the USA – top 50,
  • and other economics olympiads, including the Economics Knowledge Olympiad, which complement a candidate’s profile perfectly.

The title of Entrepreneurship Olympiad finalist or laureate, combined with a strong IB or A-Level matura result and a well-crafted personal statement, is a combination that opens doors not only to the SGH, but also to LSE, Warwick, Bocconi, and Erasmus University Rotterdam. Our mentors – graduates of Cambridge, Oxford, and leading universities worldwide – will help plan the entire pathway 1–3 years in advance, so that you do not have to act under last-minute pressure.

Regardless of whether you are just beginning your olympiad journey or have already qualified for the regional stage – the first consultation is free of charge. We will talk about your goals, assess your realistic chances, and propose a concrete action plan. No chaos, no loose ends, with a clear schedule for the months ahead.
