A-Levels law tutoring

A-Levels Law tutoring — a solid foundation for law studies abroad

Law at Cambridge A-Levels is one of the most demanding subjects in the international programme. Students often understand the substantive issues but lose marks on the structure of argumentation, English legal terminology, or work with the mark scheme. A-Levels Law tutoring at MonPat Education helps turn this gap into a real advantage — we teach how to think, write, and argue in line with the expectations of Cambridge International examiners.

We work with students who plan to study law in the UK, the Netherlands, Ireland, or the USA, as well as with those who take A-Levels as private candidates or at Polish international schools. Our goal is not only a high exam grade, but also preparation for tests such as the LNAT and admissions interviews at prestigious law faculties.

The first consultation is free — it’s a time to get to know the student, assess their level, and jointly set a work strategy.

Who is A-Levels Law tutoring for?

The offer is aimed at students who take law seriously — as a field of study or the foundation of a future international career. The people who most often come to us are:

  • students at international high schools in Poland and abroad doing Cambridge AS/A-Level Law or related subjects (Politics, Business, Economics, Global Perspectives);
  • students at Polish schools who are preparing for A-Levels in parallel as private candidates;
  • candidates for law studies in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the Netherlands, for whom the A-Level Law grade is a key element of the application;
  • students whose predicted grades are lower than their real potential and who want to work steadily on their results;
  • students needing support in writing legal essays in English and in analysing case studies and case law.

We work both with people starting their adventure with law and with those who are already at an advanced stage and aiming for the highest A* grades needed for applications to top universities.

Why is A-Level Law a subject that really opens doors?

A-Level Law is not just about learning definitions. It is training in analytical thinking, which examiners verify in every essay question, structured question, or case study. Universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, UCL, King’s College London, or Trinity College Dublin expect a law candidate to be able to argue logically, identify legal principles, and apply them to new factual situations. These are precisely the competencies that a well-run A-Level Law course builds.

What’s more, this subject works perfectly with the whole application path. Without a solid A-Level Law (or at least Politics, History, Economics), it is difficult to build a convincing Personal Statement for law in the UK. Without analytical writing skills in English, it is difficult to pass the LNAT exam. And without experience in working with case studies, it is difficult to get through an Oxbridge interview.

This is where the long-term value of this investment begins: better preparation → a higher exam grade → a stronger application → studies at a better university → a stronger network of contacts and better professional opportunities. For many students, a high A-Level Law grade is the turning point that decides whether they will end up at a regional university or at one of Europe’s top 10 law faculties.

How we work — methodology that delivers results

Our tutors are graduates of Cambridge, Oxford, and other top universities — many of them actively work in grading exam papers or conducting admissions interviews at British universities. This means that we know exactly what the examiner looks at and what the mark scheme looks like from the inside, not just from the textbook perspective.

We start every process with a diagnosis: we check where the student is losing marks, how they construct argumentation, and how they cope with work under time pressure. On this basis, an individual work plan is created with specific goals for each month. After each session, the student receives brief feedback with three things: what they did well, what needs improvement, and what to do before the next meeting. Parents receive regular progress reports, and between lessons you can contact us — a quick question about a specific case or essay fragment does not require waiting until the next lesson.

Why do parents and students choose us? Because they get a clear action plan, real examples from Cambridge exam papers, and the feeling that someone is leading the student by the hand through the entire process — from the first session to the result on the certificate. In lessons we use:

  • work with official past papers from Cambridge International and a thorough analysis of mark schemes;
  • analysis of English-language case studies, judgments, and cases from civil, criminal, constitutional, and commercial law;
  • practice in writing full responses such as essay, structured question, and short answer to the exam markscheme;
  • building a legal argumentation toolkit in English — IRAC, identification of legal principles, application of precedents;
  • revision strategy and planning of the exam session, so that the student arrives at the exam calm and prepared;
  • optional mock exams in conditions close to the exam, with a full discussion of the result.

Scope of support within the course

A-Levels Law tutoring is not just about learning the material. It is full substantive and strategic support, which includes:

  • analysis of the student’s profile and diagnosis of the current level based on practice papers;
  • an individual work plan tailored to the exam date and application goal;
  • systematic work with the Cambridge A-Level Law syllabus and related subjects;
  • preparation for AS and A2 exams with an emphasis on answer technique;
  • regular feedback after each session and progress reports for parents;
  • support in difficult issues from civil, criminal, constitutional, and commercial law;
  • strategic consultations on the choice of further subjects and the application path;
  • a 1–3 year work plan for students thinking long-term about law studies.

A-Levels Law tutoring as part of a bigger plan

A solid grade in A-Level Law is an important element, but it rarely works alone. Law studies abroad — especially in the United Kingdom — require a well-thought-out whole: the right set of subjects, a well-written Personal Statement, a solid LNAT score, and preparation for the admissions interview. That is why our A-Levels students often use other elements of the offer in parallel.

If the goal is studies in the United Kingdom, a natural next step is the Oxbridge Programme or a comprehensive grade analysis and university selection in the UK. For those considering other directions, we have ready paths for studies in Ireland, studies in the Netherlands, and studies in the USA.

It is also worth remembering that A-Levels are only one of the possible paths — some students choose the IB International Baccalaureate, for which we also provide comprehensive support. Regardless of the path, we understand how the individual elements connect into a coherent application, and we help students build a top-tier candidate profile, not just pass successive exams.
