Courses for Italian exams

Italian exam courses – comprehensive preparation for studies in Italy

Studies in Italy have for years attracted Polish students with their high academic level, the prestige of top universities, and a unique academic culture that cannot be compared to any other system in Europe. However, to get into an Italian university, good knowledge of the language alone is not enough – targeted preparation for the specific exam that decides admission is needed. Our courses for Italian university entrance exams solve exactly this problem: they take the student from school level to exam level, where not only vocabulary and grammar count, but above all the ability to work under time pressure, understand academic texts, and argue precisely in a foreign language.

We work with students for whom an Italian university is a specific goal, not a distant dream. We help them obtain a CELI, CILS, or PLIDA certificate at the level required by the chosen university, and we also prepare them for academic entrance tests. The course participant finishes the programme with a real language tool that opens the doors not only to admissions, but also to free functioning on an Italian campus.

Who are our Italian exam courses for?

Our preparation for Italian studies is dedicated to high school students and graduates who want to start higher education in Italy, as well as to people planning an academic exchange or studies in fields taught in Italian. The people who most often come to us are:

  • students planning studies in Italy in humanities, economics, law, or artistic fields, where a language certificate at B2 or C1 level is required,
  • candidates for medicine, architecture, and engineering, for whom entrance tests at Italian universities, including academic exams such as IMAT, are key,
  • students of the IB programme and the Polish Matura who want to complete their candidate profile with an official CELI or CILS language certificate,
  • people preparing for exams at levels from A1/A2 to C1/C2, depending on the individual admissions goal,
  • students who do well in Italian lessons but lose self-confidence in the exam situation and do not know the specifics of the particular paper.

Many parents come to us at the moment when the child already has basic language skills but lacks an exam strategy. The course is not “general Italian” – it is targeted preparation for a specific exam and a specific admissions goal.

Why are Italian exams key for the application?

Italian universities have one of the most formalised admissions systems in Europe. Without the appropriate language certificate or without passing the entrance test, the application will not even be considered. This means that the language exam is a real gateway to the university, not a formal addition.

The most recognisable certificates are CELI – associated with the University of Perugia – and CILS, issued by the University of Siena. Both are honoured by Italian public and private universities, and the choice often depends on the course and the requirements of the given university. In our offer you will also find preparation for the PLIDA and Cert.IT exams and for academic entrance tests. From our experience, the course must be tailored exactly to the exam that the candidate intends to sit – the format of the tasks, the assessment criteria, and the typical pitfalls differ significantly between certificates.

The consequences of good preparation are long term. A high exam result is not just admission to university. It is also:

  • a real chance for a top university in Italy, such as Bocconi, La Sapienza, or medical universities teaching in Italian,
  • comfort of starting in the first year – no language barrier means better grades and less stress,
  • access to Erasmus programmes, internships, and work in an Italian-speaking environment,
  • a stronger profile in applications to master’s and doctoral studies in the future.

Better preparation leads to a better university, and a better university opens the door to a stronger network of contacts and a more interesting career. It is an investment whose effects go far beyond the moment of passing the exam.

How we work – a methodology that works

Our approach is based on the assumption that the exam is not a test of memory, but a test of skills. We work individually, adapting the programme to the student’s real level and the specific exam goal. The lessons cover all exam categories: listening, reading, writing, speaking, and use of language, with particular emphasis on the elements that cause the greatest difficulty.

Why do parents and students choose us? After each session, we provide brief feedback in which we point out the strengths and specific areas for improvement. We work according to a clear, jointly agreed action map, so that the parent knows at any moment what stage of preparation the child is at. We also stay in touch between lessons – we answer questions, send additional materials, and react quickly when the student encounters a specific problem.

An important element of the course are practice exam papers and simulations of the oral part. The student not only learns the structure of the test, but learns to think and communicate at an academic level, build argumentation, analyse scientific texts, and work under time pressure. These are skills that really translate into the exam result and into later comfort of studying.

Scope of support

As part of the Italian exam courses, we offer:

  • preparation for CELI, CILS, PLIDA, and Cert.IT certificates at all levels – from A1/A2 to C1/C2,
  • targeted preparation for academic entrance tests at Italian universities, including medical and field-specific exams,
  • academic Italian for candidates for humanities, economics, and art courses,
  • writing coaching – writing essays, formal texts, and argumentative statements in line with the exam requirements,
  • thematic conversations developing self-confidence and preparing for the oral part,
  • analysis of exam instructions and work with authentic papers,
  • language support for IB and Polish Matura students who want to complete their profile with a certificate in Italian.

We conduct lessons online, in individual mode, at times adapted to the student’s school schedule. The first consultation is completely free – it serves to diagnose the level, discuss the exam goal, and design an individual work plan.

The language course is just the beginning – a comprehensive application path

The Italian exam course can be a standalone form of support, but at MonPat Education we treat it as an element of a wider process. Applying to an Italian university is not just a language certificate – it is also an entrance test, a motivation letter, sometimes an admissions interview, and a thoughtful strategy for choosing the field and university. We support our course participants at each of these stages.

If you are planning medical studies, it is worth reading our potential assessment for medicine in Italy and the course preparing for the IMAT exam. Candidates for Bocconi University use our dedicated potential assessment for Bocconi. A full picture of the application possibilities can be found in the section dedicated to studies in Italy.

Students taking the international school-leaving exam can combine the language course with IB tutoring, and people aiming at prestigious foreign universities often combine language preparation with advice on choosing the field of study. Thanks to this approach, the student builds a complete and competitive candidate profile – with a language certificate, a strong Matura result, and a thoughtful application strategy.

Our students are guided by graduates of Cambridge, Oxford, and other top universities in the world. We combine knowledge of the Italian exam system with experience in guiding students through the entire application process, thanks to which the language course becomes part of a thoughtful, long-term educational strategy.

If you are considering studies in Italy, do not wait until the last semester to make a decision. The sooner you start preparing, the greater the comfort you will have during the exam itself and the admissions process. Book a free first consultation – together we will determine the language level, choose the appropriate exam, and plan the preparation path.
