LNAT exam preparation course
LNAT course – preparation for the law admissions test in the United Kingdom
You have excellent grades, a passion for law, and a dream of studying at one of the best universities in the United Kingdom — Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, or King’s College. You already know that a school-leaving qualification alone is not enough. The LNAT examination is a compulsory admissions test that filters out candidates regardless of their academic results — and this is where the real admissions process takes place. Our LNAT online course helps students understand what this examination truly requires and prepare for it effectively.

Who this course is for
The course is aimed at secondary school students who are planning to study law in the United Kingdom and need thorough LNAT preparation. This applies both to students following the IB programme and to those preparing for the Polish matura — anyone aiming for law at a British university that requires the LNAT faces the same challenge.
We also support parents who want to be confident that their child is approaching the admissions process fully prepared — not only with strong grades, but with a genuine understanding of what the LNAT law UK test involves and how to achieve the required score.
Why the LNAT is crucial for your application
The LNAT examination does not test legal knowledge. It tests something far more difficult to develop without the right support: verbal reasoning, the ability to analyse complex texts, and the construction of logical arguments. This is precisely why many excellent students — with A* grades or 40+ IB points — fall at the application review stage.
The structure of the examination is demanding: Section A consists of 42 multiple-choice questions based on 12 texts that must be analysed under time pressure. Section B is an essay written in just 40 minutes — with no opportunity for revision and no prompts. The full examination lasts 2 hours and 15 minutes. The numerical score (up to 42 points) comes from Section A only, but universities such as Oxford and UCL also take the essay into account when making admissions decisions.
A weak LNAT score can rule out an application even where the academic profile is otherwise ideal. A strong score — particularly above 27–29 points — significantly increases the chances of receiving an interview invitation or a direct offer. It is one of the few elements of the admissions process that can be genuinely improved through systematic training.
In the longer term: the university you gain access to through strong preparation shapes your professional network, internship opportunities, and career path. Law at Oxford or UCL is not just a degree — it is a passport to law firms and institutions that recruit exclusively from top universities.
How we work — the LNAT course methodology
We do not work from a single template, because every student has a different starting point. At the outset we analyse where the candidate currently stands — what gaps they have in analytical reasoning, how they cope with reading argumentative texts in English, and how they approach writing under time pressure.
Sessions are conducted individually. After every session the student receives specific feedback — not vague “good work” comments, but identification of which types of questions they find difficult, where they are losing marks, and what to improve before the next practice session. Parents receive regular progress reports, so they always know what stage of preparation their child has reached and what still needs to be done before the examination.
We place particular emphasis on:
- confident analysis of argumentative texts — reading comprehension is the foundation of Section A,
- logical reasoning — recognising traps in multiple-choice questions,
- essay writing under time pressure — structure, argumentation, and academic style within 40 minutes,
- working with authentic LNAT materials — examination simulations under conditions as close as possible to the real thing,
- building confidence — because examination-day stress can lower the score even of a well-prepared candidate.
Our tutors are graduates of Cambridge, Oxford, and other leading universities. They know what the admissions process looks like from the inside — and they pass that knowledge on to students.

- Regular progress reports for the student and parent,
- A flexible session schedule tailored to the examination timetable and school commitments.
LNAT is the first step. What comes next?
A strong LNAT score opens the door to an interview — and this is where the next stage of the admissions process begins, which most candidates completely overlook. Universities such as Oxford and UCL do not ask candidates to recite memorised law during the interview — they assess whether the candidate can think legally, analyse cases, and argue under pressure.
At MonPat Education we offer comprehensive support with applications to universities in the United Kingdom — from candidate profile analysis, through admissions strategy for UK universities, to interview preparation and the IELTS Academic course if you need a language certificate. We can also help with writing a personal statement that genuinely stands out from thousands of similar applications.
If you are serious about law in the UK, it is worth planning the entire pathway — not just the LNAT examination. The first consultation is free of charge — find out how we can support you at every stage of the admissions process.
