Key information<\/h2>\n The A-Levels (Advanced Levels)<\/strong> are the British state exam ending secondary school, equivalent to the Polish Matura. They are a gateway to admissions at higher education institutions in the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States. They are also recognised by Polish universities, which makes them an extremely versatile choice.<\/p>\nThe programme lasts two years and is delivered in “sixth form” mode<\/strong> (for students aged 16\u201318). In the first year (AS Levels), students usually choose 4 subjects, and in the second year they narrow the choice down to 3 in order to study them at an advanced level. Importantly, A-Levels are also available to adults with no age limit<\/strong>, which makes them a flexible option also for those who want to change their educational path.<\/p>\nStructure and course of the A-Levels programme<\/h2>\n Students choose 3\u20134 subjects from a wide range<\/strong> covering the sciences (mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology), humanities (history, English literature, law), and social and artistic subjects. This teaching model allows for specialist in-depth study of selected fields<\/strong>, which is particularly valued by top foreign universities.<\/p>\nFinal exams decide the ultimate result. The grading scale is as follows:<\/p>\n
\nA*<\/strong> \u2014 the highest grade, corresponding to a result of around 90\u2013100%,<\/li>\nA, B, C, D<\/strong> \u2014 subsequent grades reflecting the level of mastery of the material,<\/li>\nE<\/strong> \u2014 the minimum passing threshold, corresponding to a result of around 40%.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nIn Poland, the A-Levels programme is offered both by international in-person schools and proven online education platforms. Students often combine remote learning with individual tutoring preparing for the A-Levels exam, which allows them to make the most of their academic potential.<\/p>\n
Who are the A-Levels for?<\/h2>\n The British system will work particularly well for students who:<\/p>\n
