an adult wants to unlock their speaking ability, improve business conversation skills, or master a specialist language (IT, law, medicine, marketing, aviation).

Parents often write to us with a sentence we hear regularly: “They can handle the textbook exercises, but the exam papers catch them off guard.” This is a classic symptom of a lack of exam strategy — and that is exactly what we work on.

Why is good English essential today?

English has stopped being an “additional advantage” — it has become a prerequisite. Without an adequate extended matura result or a C1-level certificate, forget about applying to universities in the UK, the Netherlands, Ireland, or the US. Most foreign programs require IELTS 6.5–7.5 or TOEFL 90+, and universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, and LSE also look at how comfortably a candidate handles a job interview conducted in English.

A well-mastered command of English is an investment that works throughout a lifetime. A better exam result → a better university → a stronger network → broader career opportunities. This is a principle we see in our graduates — today they study at Cambridge, Oxford, LSE, and Imperial College London, and for many of them the starting point was precisely a thoroughly worked-through English course at secondary school level.

It is also worth remembering that English is the subject that connects the entire MonPat educational offer. It is essential for the international IB matura, A-Levels, and entrance exams such as the SAT, UCAT, and IMAT.

How we work — a methodology that delivers results

Learning English at MonPat Education is not “doing textbook exercises.” It is an organized process grounded in assessment, a plan, and regular feedback. Every collaboration begins with a free consultation during which we establish the student’s level (A1–C2), their goals and deadlines, and then build an individual work map.

During sessions we combine work on grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, and speaking — with emphasis on the weakest areas. When preparing for exams, this is supplemented by: analysis of CKE and Cambridge English exam papers, recognition of recurring question patterns, timed practice, and exam simulations under conditions close to the real thing.

After every session the student and parent receive brief feedback: what went well, where the gaps are, and what we will be working on in the next lesson. Every few weeks we summarize progress and show measurable results — higher percentages on practice papers, vocabulary gains, and growing fluency in speaking. Between sessions we are available to our students — we answer questions, review essays, and send materials. It is precisely this level of commitment that means parents and students come back to us and recommend us to others.

We run lessons both in person and online — the student chooses whichever format is more convenient. Online is just as effective as in-person: we use an interactive whiteboard, digital materials, and recordings that the student can access after the lesson as well.
